Customization

How does the customization work?: Each product page has a live shader preview and a set of controls — sliders, color pickers, font selects, and toggles. Adjust them until the design looks right to you, then hit Generate Preview to create a mockup of your shirt.
What's a shader?: A shader is a small program that runs on your GPU and generates visuals from math — no images, no stock art. Every Brightfield design is produced by a hand-written GLSL fragment shader running in real time in your browser.
Will my design be unique?: Yes. Shaders start with randomized values, and every combination of settings you dial in is your own. No two orders need to be identical.
Can I add my own text?: Most designs support a custom text overlay — choose a font, size, position, and color to make it yours. Check the product's controls for a Text section.
Can I save my design and come back to it?: Your most recent design is automatically saved in your browser. If you share a design, the share link will restore your exact settings on any device.

What is the community feature?: After generating a preview, you can optionally share your design with the Brightfield community. Approved designs appear on the Community page, where anyone can browse them and load the settings into their own session.
Are all submitted designs approved?: Submissions are reviewed before appearing publicly. We keep it to on-brand, appropriate designs.

Who prints the shirts?: We use Printful for print-on-demand fulfillment. Orders are printed and shipped directly from their facilities — no inventory, no minimums.
What's the print quality like?: Designs are printed at high resolution using direct-to-garment (DTG) printing on quality blanks. The shader output is exported at print resolution before your order is submitted.
How long does shipping take?: Production typically takes 2–5 business days, plus shipping time depending on your location. You'll receive a tracking number once your order ships.
What sizes are available?: Available sizes vary by product — check the size selector on each product page. Most designs are offered in a full range of unisex sizes.

Can I return or exchange my order?: Because every shirt is made to order, we can't accept returns for buyer's remorse. If your order arrives damaged or with a print defect, contact us and we'll make it right.
